What is radiotherapy?
Radiotherapy, also known as radiation therapy, is a medical treatment that uses high-energy radiation to destroy cancer cells or control their growth. It is one of the most common treatments for cancer and can also be used for certain non-cancerous conditions. The goal of radiotherapy is to damage the DNA of cancer cells, preventing them from dividing and causing them to die, while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissues.
