What is chemotherapy ?
Chemotherapy is a type of cancer treatment that uses drugs to destroy or slow the growth of cancer cells. These drugs work by targeting rapidly dividing cells, a characteristic of most cancer cells. However, since some normal cells in the body also divide quickly (e.g., cells in the bone marrow, digestive tract, and hair follicles), chemotherapy can affect them as well, leading to side effects.
Chemotherapy → Medical treatment → Uses drugs → Target and kill cancer cells → Prevent growth and division → May affect healthy cells → Delivered via IV, pills, or injections → Key in cancer management.
